Introducing our latest ERI interns:-
“My name is Emma Bacchetto and I’m from Canberra, Australia. – I am currently studying law and politics at the University of Canberra, with the intention of working in human rights. I work in the Edmund Rice network as an archivist for St Edmund’s College in Canberra. I have volunteered in homelessness, mental health and children who have disabilities. I love to paint and cook. I am very interested in international relations and politics. I have a love of social justice and I am particularly interested in human rights issues facing asylum seekers and refugees. This internship is a great opportunity to observe how the law and human rights interact, and will lend insight into how I might employ my studies to help create social justice.”
You can follow Emma’s experience as an ERI intern via her blog.
“My name is Anthony Cocomazzo from Ballarat (near Melbourne), Australia. I have been volunteering with Edmund Rice Network since 2009 mainly with Edmund Rice Camps and Edmund Rice Community and Refugee Services. In 2014 and 2015 I worked full time for the Edmund Rice Centre Amberley Youth Ministry Retreat Team coordinating and facilitating community engagement opportunities for students. I love football (soccer), Australian music, travel and meeting new people. I am passionate about many human rights issues. I am very excited to embrace this opportunity to learn and to grow spiritually. I hope to gain skills and knowledge that I can utilise to better assist those experiencing injustices in the future.”
