Earth Hour has grown to be the world’s largest mass participation event involving more than 7,000 cities, 7 continents and millions of people.
Earth Hour’s mission is three-fold. To bring people together through a symbolic hour-long event. To galvanise people into taking action beyond the hour. And to create an interconnected global community sharing the mutual goal of creating a sustainable future for the planet.
Students in Edmund Rice schools from Argentina, Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay marked Earth Hour in a project organised by Br Renato Llerana and Daniel DeVicenzi (a teacher at Cardenal Newman College in Buenos Aires) which was intended to raise awareness and participation in the event.
The photo shows students from different countries forming a composite Earth Hour 60+ symbol together with the event held in the central square of Cochabamba – Bolivia.
