IMG_2904  This month sees us say farewell to Drew Gibbons and a welcome to Madelaine Curnow and Ben Taylor (pictured at left).

Ben, a former student of St Josephs, Gregory Terrace (an Edmund Rice School in Brisbane, Australia) is a 5th year Law student at the University of Queensland, whose interests lie in International Law & Human Rights. He will be with ERI for 3 months, and hopes to gain valuable experience and exposure to the UN human rights system. You can follow Ben’s experience via his blog.

Madelaine is from Ballarat, Victoria Australia and recently graduated from La Trobe University with a degree in International Relations. Madelaine has been involved and interested in social justice issues since she was a teenager, particularly after visiting and volunteering in Cambodia. Since then she has become increasingly interested in human rights issues, particularly women’s and children’s rights and also anti-human trafficking work.

Madelaine is looking forward to seeing the impact Edmund Rice International has on various global issues, to attending and monitoring sessions of the Human Rights Council, participating in advocacy processes and learning about the UN system. She is also looking forward to working with like-minded people for the next 3 months. You can also follow Madelaine’s internship experience via her blog.
